Directions for Cowdown Apiary from the Tesco roundabout, Andover

Or follow these steps:

  1. Take the A3093 (Churchill Way) heading east.
  2. Pass through 3 roundabouts, staying on the A3093.
  3. Turn right on to Cowdown Lane. The turning is on the slip road to the A303, as if you were heading west to Exeter.
  4. Go down Cowdown Lane (postcode SP11 6). The entrance gate to the solar farm and apiary is on the right, opposite some farm buildings.
  5. Drive through the gate, with the solar panels on your right.
  6. Our apiary is at the end of the track.
Asian hornet identification guide. Queen up to 30mm, workers up to 25mm long (worker honey bee up to 16mm). Entirely dark brown or black velvety body. Abdomen almost entirely dark except for the 4th abdominal segment. Legs brown with characteristic yellow ends.
